Quick Comparison - The GR 66 Series cup diameter is similar to a conventional 3 diameter.  The 66M is a very popular choice for 3C players looking for more core in their sound with more secure articulations.

The 66Z Series and 66SZ are popular alternatives for players who "bottom out" or get a thin sound and poor articulations on a conventional 14A4a or similar models.

Classic Blank is standard.  Symphonic Blank is standard on the C** and C models.

Studio, Symphonic, and FatBoy are available as a special order on some models.

Backbores, other than listed, are special orders.

66Q Series

The Q rim is slightly flat, outside diameter follows tradition in width and contour, highpoint is further out than the standard GR Rim, the bite is medium sharp with the traditional feel and grip, and the alpha is medium for lip freedom, support, and articulation.  The bite grip holds the lips from penetrating too far into the cup.

Q* Models have lower Beta Angles for a more "Traditional" sound.

66QM....Q Rim, GR M Cup. Same alpha angle as GR M Cup. A great all around mouthpiece! #2 Backbore, Classic Blank

66QMX...Q Rim, GR MX Cup. Same angle as GR MX Cup. More edgy than the Q* Models. #3 Backbore, Classic Blank

66Q*...Q Rim, similar to GR C* Cup.  1st Cup radius is slightly more open than the C*. #3 Backbore, Symphonic Blank

66Q*B...Q Rim, Deep cup. Great for a strong player on Bb trumpet. Less edge to the sound. #3 Backbore, Symphonic Blank

66Q*C...Q Rim. Excellent C Trumpet Mouthpiece.  Very open blow. #3 backbore, Symphonic Blank, Larger bore similar to Haefner and VC Cups.

66C-T and 66B-T

Similar to 67 C-T and 67B-T but with a slightly smaller .660" Cup Diameter.

66ES

Similar characteristics to the 64ES and 65ES but with the wider .660" cup diameter.

66X

.660" cup diameter, alpha angle between the L and the LX with slightly less cup volume.

G Rim Models

G66MX, G66L, G66X, G66LX, G66BX, G66CX, G66VC
