The FD Model can be used for trumpet to produce a softer more lyrical quality.  The sound quality is almost flugel - like.  Many GR players use the FD on trumpet for post - horn solos, or for jazz gigs where they need an edgier flugel sound.  Some players have used the FD on trumpet when traveling so they don't have to take along a flugelhorn.

Using the FD mouthpiece on the trumpet may require the tuning slide to be pulled out slightly.

*Caution - The shank may bottom out on certain trumpets; therefore, the gap should be inspected to insure the mouthpiece doesn’t bottom out .
